Prescription Ordering Process

The surgery now has more choices available when ordering your repeat prescriptions.

You can now use any of the following methods to order your medication.

Use a direct prescription ordering process where possible to obtain your medication in the shortest possible time:

  • Ring the dedicated Prescription Ordering Centre:
  •    01453 519219

  • Nominate a pharmacy for Electronic Transfer of your prescription.
  • Please be aware that some medicines, for example controlled drugs, cannot be transferred electronically at the moment and so a paper prescription has to be generated.

Under normal circumstances your prescription will be available within 2 to 3 working days.

Check with you local pharmacy how long it takes to get your medication ready after they receive the prescription.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC), which is an independent regulator of health and adult social care in England, has completed its inspection of the Cam & Uley Family Practice. These inspections are used to make sure that health services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.

Uley Dispensary

Nice_blue_pillsUley surgery can dispense prescription medicines to patients who live more than a one-mile radius from their nearest pharmacy. Those patients on the dispensing register may obtain their medicines from the Uley Surgery.

Our Dispensing Staff are fully qualified dispensers and liaise daily with the doctors on prescribing.

Repeat Prescriptions can be obtained without seeing a doctor, but please note that all requests for repeat prescriptions will be checked and verified by the doctor. This means only requests from patients entitled to receive repeat prescriptions will be accepted.

Patients can either collect the prescription from their surgery or nominate a Pharmacy where they can pick up their medication. If a patient lives further than 1 mile from a pharmacy, they may choose to collect their medication from Uley surgery.
